Former SLYB Star to Play in Super Regional

Former SLYB all-star player Brendan Hord plays a significant role on the Evansville Purple Aces baseball team that won the Greenville Regional in college baseball’s 2024 Road to Omaha. Evansville, the 4 seed, battled through the winner’s bracket to win the Regional, upsetting host East Carolina 6-5 in the final game.

Hord played for legendary coach Donnie Warner on the South Lexington Cardinals in the major league from 2010 through 2013 and was a red team all-star for each of the four years. Brendan was a star on the 12u Cal Ripken World Series team that made it to the Final Four in 2013 in the Series played in Hammond, Indiana. Like he is today for the Purple Aces, he was the starting catcher for that South Lexington team.

Hord has blasted 8 Home Runs and driven in 39 runs for Evansville on the season. His team faces Tennessee in the Knoxville Super Regional and will advance to the College World Series if they beat the Vols in the best of three series.

The Registration "Home" is not currently available.
