INNINGS PITCHED FILE (MAJOR & MINOR)Updated Tuesday June 27, 2017 by SLYB.
Please see file attached for the weekly Innings Restrictions for both Major & Minor leagues (on separate tabs).
MAJOR LEAGUE: A pitcher is restricted to 6 innings per calendar week (defined as running from Monday through Sunday). Delivering one pitch in an inning is defined as an inning for the purpose of this rule. If a pitcher pitches more than 2 innings, the pitcher must have two calendar days rest. (EXAMPLE: A player pitching 3 innings on Wednesday can not pitch again until Saturday at which time he has three innings remaining in the calendar week. Also, the "2-day Rest" rule applies from a previous week - so if a pitcher threw more than 2 innings on a Sunday, that pitcher can not pitch again until Wednesday, even though he still has six innings for that week).
MINOR LEAGUE: A pitcher is restricted to 6 innings over a two game stretch (also known as "Rolling 6"). Delivering one pitch in an inning is defined as an inning for the purpose of this rule.
